In our image-conscious society, charisma often trumps character. We flock to people who look good and present well.

Yet effective leadership is more than skin-deep. Effective leaders are men and women of character. Effective leaders communicate authentically (not always eloquently).

If you want people to follow your lead, let them know who you really are.
